Hello folks,

My brother and I live about 10 km from each other.  We want to send the plane back and forth to each other, like a messenging pigeon. No FPV, just by mission.

I know now that there cannot be 2 missions programmed on the APM. But... there is RTH !

I am "A". I take off, then press "auto". The plane goes to "B" and auto-lands.

I need "B" , when plane lands, to simply launch whenever he wants it to happen (so no time programmation), then just press RTH, so that the plane goes back to A (auto-land).

Is this feasable ?

The obstacles I foresee :

1- I guess B needs to bind his TX with the plane RX so that APM understands the order

2-  When pressing RTL, what "Home" will it be ? I want it to be "A". How can I avoid "home" to be "B" so that it recalls the original take-off point "A" and not the latest one "B" ?

Thank you

Looks like lot of people across border would like to do this to send "stuff" and bring back some thing else ;).

    Would probably attract authority too.

So biggest hurdle might there and would be trouble.  cheers and fly safe.

  • This won't work unless there is no power interruption. Home is set at 1st gps lock and can't be moved yet. This option has been requested but I've seen no movement on it. So if you don't change batteries it should be able to RTL back to you, but you'll have to land it manually since it will just loiter over your head.
It's much easier just to use mission planner to load the return trip. Then he can use an auto takeoff and autolanding back at your home.

The new DragonLink software allows you to bind two transmitters to the same Rx. HobbyKing sells trainer boards that go in the plane and you can switch between 2 different Rx's, each binded to a different Tx. They only cost $8.
