I might be overstretching my abilities here, but when you put your transmitter through the calibration stage on mission planner, the PMW's seem to be fairly standard, i.e around 1100 at the bottom, 1500 for the middle setting on a 3 position switch, and around 1900 for the top setting. In order to use all 6 fligt modes on mission planner, there are PMW values that can't be reached, without the use of the rotary switch (i am using a DX 9). What i am trying to say is, is there a way of setting maximum parameters in Mission planner, where you can set a switch so that its maximum pwm parameter can be preset, so that flight modes 2,3 and 5 can be utilized.

Those values reflect what your radio is sending. Mission Planner is not "doing" anything. IF you want the range wider you need to get your radio to do it.
