I'm trying to get an APM 1.4 board running and am having difficulty seeing the radio signals.

I have successfully reloaded the PPM firmware and it appears to be running correctly, with the blue LED flashing in proportion to throttle.

Still, the radio PWM values are showing as 900us in Mission Planner.

I have pinned through the board as best I can and get connectivity both ways on the track between 328p pin 14 and 2560 pin 35 up until the via that is directly under the 2560 chip.

If I read the board layout correctly, I should get connectivity from the 328p pin 14 all the way through* to one of the header pins labelled PL0, but it fails between the via and the header pin, so presumably also between the via and the 2560 pin 35.

Does this seem like a realistic possibility?

If I fill the via with solder, am I likely to get this thing running?

All advice gratefully received!

*there is a resistor, I think, in this path, I am aware of

  • Well, after comparing it with my 1280 board, it appears that this via fault is the reason my 1.4 board doesn't function correctly.  What's the chance of a warranty replacement...?
