Power to the APM:Plane Board during a HIL Simulation?

Hi everybody-

I am working on setting up a HIL Simulation with X-Plane and APM:Plane as shown in the manual here: http://plane.ardupilot.com/wiki/xplane-3/

 

When I set up the sim, does the APM:Plane board draw power from the computer it is connected to via USB, or do I need to get a power module, LiPo battery, etc.? Thank you!

    The board is powered via USB. You can power it via battery, and run HiL over telemetry, of course, but the normal way (and preferred) is to connect and power it via USB for HiL.
