Hello,
I mentioned in another post that I use a pre-flight checklist to help prevent avoidable accidents in the field (e.g. forgetting to put TX aerial up) , and Chris suggested I posted it, so here it is:
Pre-flight check list
Before setting out:
- Battery, spare battery, camera and TX fully charged
- Check IMU switch in flight position (forward)
- Check TX Flight mode switch(es) in STABILIZE
position (flap switch centred in my case) - Check Camera switch inactive in down (1)
position - Disconnect propellors, connect battery and do
throttle check (Motors start together at same speed) - Disconnect battery, Reconnect propellors
- Remember to take driving glasses so I can see the quad clearly!
In the field:
- Set camera mode, and switch on
- Connect battery and wait for GPS lock
(solid blue on GPS module, C LED on RED) - Extend Tx aerial fully
- Check TX dual-rate switches all set correctly
- Recheck flight mode STABILIZE
- Arm motors
- Start video camera
- Ready to fly
