Pre-Flight checklist

Hello,

I mentioned in another post that I use a pre-flight checklist to help prevent avoidable accidents in the field (e.g. forgetting to put TX aerial up) , and Chris suggested I posted it, so here it is:

Pre-flight check list

Before setting out:

  1. Battery, spare battery, camera and TX fully charged
  2. Check IMU switch in flight position (forward)
  3. Check TX Flight mode switch(es) in STABILIZE
position (flap switch centred in my case)
  4. Check Camera switch inactive in down (1)
    position
  5. Disconnect propellors, connect battery and do
throttle check (Motors start together at same speed)
  6. Disconnect battery, Reconnect propellors
  7. Remember to take driving glasses so I can see the quad clearly!

In the field:

  1. Set camera mode, and switch on
  2. Connect battery and wait for GPS lock
(solid blue on GPS module, C LED on RED)
  3. Extend Tx aerial fully
  4. Check TX dual-rate switches all set correctly
  5. Recheck flight mode STABILIZE
  6. Arm motors
  7. Start video camera
  8. Ready to fly
