Problems uploading code to Ardupilot.

Hello all,I’m having trouble uploading code the ardupilot getting the sync error each time i try to upload. Im not sure how relevant this is but i have successfully the MUX can get the LED’s to switch on/off.I have tried using two different USB->TTL adapters on both a system running XP SP3 and one running windows 7.The one listed here was provided with remzibi’s OSD and has been successfully used it with the OSD and a TTL GPS.I also tried to use this one. I couldn’t get it to work but have not yet tested it before so it could be the adapter that is faulty.I believe i have everything connected ok, the ardupilot is powered by the +- pins of a ESC and the USB-TTL adapter is connected as follows:USB-TTL adapter: ArdupilotGND BLKTX RXRX TXI have read through the debugging tips without any further success.I have definitely selected the right COM port and selected arduino . I cannot seem to access the RTS setting in your PC's port settings, perhaps it has changed?.Any advice would be much appreciated.Cheers,Nick

  • Wow, forgot about this post.
I got everything working some time ago using the recommended sparkfun FTDI cable.
  • ...
  • I got problems too:
Ordered Ardupilot and the recommended FTDI-board, installed the virtual com-port drivers and get the error:
"avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding" when trying to upload with arduino.
Prior to this i accidently pressed the burn bootloader button, which caused everything to hang. could that have damaged anything?
    I'm on a mac.

Any suggestions what I could do?

    cheers,
    Ulf

edit: i use no power source except coming throug usb/ftdi board to the ardupilot board.

The fact that you can't access the RTS setting is a clue that you're not using a proper FTDI driver. When Windows (Vista or XP) sees a serial-via-USB cable, it should give you the following option on that port (Port 9 in my case):

If you can't get to this screen, you don't have the right FTDI driver loaded, which explains all of your problems. You can get the correct drivers here.
