problems with apm 2.6 + raspberry pi mavproxy

hi

i am trying to set up mavproxy with a raspberry pi + apm 2.6 using the instructions here:

im up to the "testing the connection" step, 

the apm doesnt seem to respond to anything i type

this is what i get in terminal (ssh to the pi from mac)

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ mavproxy.py --master=/dev/ttyAMA0 --baudrate 57600 --aircraft MyCopter

Connect /dev/ttyAMA0 source_system=255

no script MyCopter/mavinit.scr

Log Directory: MyCopter/logs/2015-09-09/flight5

Telemetry log: MyCopter/logs/2015-09-09/flight5/flight.tlog

MAV> Waiting for heartbeat from /dev/ttyAMA0

none of the commands suggested on the above url have any response, idk whats wrong,

can someone please tell me what is happening?

    Thanks for your reply Rob.. I even face some problem in starting the isc-dschp server.. stating the error failed, more over i found that etc/inittab configuration file seems to be empty without any script. If possible pls help me with this issues too..

      yes i did find a solution, 

      i havent done anything with it in the last month, will need to get my pi back on my network so i can ssh it,

      then i will post the solution here.
      it will be in about 24 hours from now
