I am interested in buying an ardupilot board and attaching it to my rc plane. However, i have no programming skills. What programming skills are necessary to have a successful UAV flight with an ardupilot, a GPS module, and a stabilization unit?

Not really any. You just enter in some numbers (lat, lon, etc) where directed and click a button. But ArduPilot is really meant to be hacked, experimented with and learned from, and that means at least looking at the code. If you just want an autopilot that works out of the box, you might be better off waiting a while until ArduPilot development is further along or buying one of the commerical autopilots like AttoPilot.
