PX4FLOW and Computer Vision

On The PX4FLOW webpage is states that "It can be freely reprogrammed to do any other basic, efficient low-level computer vision task." Does anyone have any experience with programming it?

I am trying to locate a specific object on the ground and stay directly above it. The goal is to autonomously land a quadcopter on a landing pad.

Would the PX4FLOW be a good choice in hardware for this?
