QGC freezing while updating firmware on px4

hey guys.

My QGC freezes at this point. The blue status bar freezes in different places. Any idea how to fix this??

Ive tried 2 instances of QGC, one that i built from source, and another that i installed. both freeze at this point.

the pix lights are doing the following (if it helps):

FMU:

PWR: on

B/E: flashing really fast

IO:
PWR: on

B/E: on

ACT: flashing blue at approx two flashes a second

  • Update:

I ran QGC on windows. I could then successfully update the firmware on both pix's.

However, the pix that originally gave me probems cannot connect to QGC. This message comes up:

the second pix runs perfectly. Also, the first pix is running properly...just cannot connect to QGC

  • ...and i just tried to update my second pix. It also froze

  • My QGC works perfectly, i just connected my other pix to it, but im now scared to update the firmware.

Not sure if this helps, but before my pix bombed out, i was checking out the parameters tab on QGC. I changed the mavlink component ID from 1 to 2, just to see what would happen. It said that i had to restart for it take effect. My pix didnt connect to QGC  after that, so i tried to update the firmware to restore the value to its default, but alas no comprende on the pix
