quad crash single tone from motors

After several weeks of flying with no crashes, today after 3 minutes of flying my quad at about 70 meters out lost power completely (needless to say what happened after falling 20+ meters).   Upon approaching the downed quad I noticed at least one motor was emitting a continous tone.  What would cause the tone?   I would like determine the reason for the loss of power before repair and flying again.

The only thing that has changed in the last day is the firmware upgrade to .50.  I have checked battery, motors, ESC including BEC and all appear to be functioning correctly.   I had logging enabled however am not familiar with deciphering at the moment.

Cheers.

loosing the PWM signal will cause an ESC to beep among other things. Check your ESC's manual. The speed and pattern of the beeps will tell you what happened.

If you post your logs I will look at them. If you haven't erased your logs, they may have been full though.
