I can't seem to slow these motors down to a manageable speed.
APM 2.6, 450mm plastic frame, four A2212 1000KV 13T motors with 20A ESCs, UBlox Neo 6M GPS & 1045 props.
I've calibrated the ESCs, completed the Compass/MOT test with success.
When I arm the quad, I simply want to hover in stabilize to check things out. With the first position of the thrust (about 3%), the quad shoot upwards at approximately 10 feet / sec. Then, my other options are to...
1. Go higher with the same 5% or more thrust
2. Bring the thrust to 0% to see the quad fall out of the sky
Does anyone have suggestions of what I might try next?

After reading http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-appendix/troubleshooting/ I changed the propellers from 1045 to 0645 and the quad flies well. It had way too much thrust with the motors. I initially thought they were 1000KV, but they were 2200KV motors. So now, it all makes sense.
