So a couple of months ago I built my first drone. The components are / were:
- Racerstar RS20Ax4 20A 4 in 1 Blheli_S Opto ESC 2-4S
- Racerstar Racing Edition 2205 BR2205 2300KV 2-4S Brushless Motor
- NAZE32 REV6 Acro Version Flight Controller (Current flight controller)
- F3 Flight Controller Acro 6 DOF/Deluxe 10 DOF (Original flight controller)
- Matek Systems PDB-XT60 W/ BEC 5V & 12V
- FlySky FS-i6 2.4G 6CH AFHDS RC Transmitter With FS-iA6B Receiver
- 3D Printed Frame
The drone worked great for the first couple of flights, when suddenly during one flight it started doing flips through the air and crashed into the ground. This wasn't a piloting error, something went wrong with the hardware/software.
After the crash I could arm the motors, and they would all spin normally, but as soon as I pick the drone up off the table, the motors start vibrating really badly. It doesn't look like their resonating, the problem seems to be with the signal being sent to the motors. The motors look like they're rapidly starting and stopping and spinning both directions.
I tried reflashing the flight controller, but that didn't do anything. It seems more likely to be a hardware issue, since the problem occurred mid-flight.
I then tried switching the F3 Flight Controller for a Naze 32. This didn't work.
I then tried switching out the PDB, this didn't work.
I then tried switching out the ESC. This didn't work either, and now I have the additional problem that the motors don't start simultaneously, even after numerous calibrations (but there are a tonne of discussions on this problem online, so I'm fairly sure I can fix it), my main issue is still what to do about the vibrations. I've attached a video of the problem.
Also I don't have this problem when controlling the motors via the slider on Cleanflight, they can get up to full speed with no vibration while the drone is being picked up, which suggests the problem could be the receiver.
Before I go out and get a new receiver, does anyone have any possible solutions I could try? If swapping the receiver doesn't work, I'll be officially out of ideas. Thanks.
