Question about 3DRobotic drone

Hi !

I am a french student in an IT school.
I am interesting in Drones and I also start learning basics about openCv.

I have strong knowledge in C/C++

The iris drone look like to fit my needs. (https://store.3drobotics.com/products/IRIS)

My question is:

Is it possible to transmit order to the drone (e.g. Iris drone) thanks to the image recorded by the camera (sent in real time to a computer (or a mobile) which will respond to the drone in order to indicate the direction) ?
Does an additional material is necessary for that purpose or the IRIS drone with a Timball and a goPro is sufficient enough ?

For example I would like my drone to recognize a place to land (e.g. a red square on the ground).

If it is possible can you send me to some place where I could find information to begin ?

I thank you in advance for your help

    Yes. Please see this

    • Wow it is really interesting ! thank you i will check on that tomorrow, so i am guessing that the iris could not be such a good choice as there is different component to add like the odroid

Yes, the Y6 is a better choice for that, since it has room for the Odroid

        • Ouch the y6 is much more expensive :s

I was thinking to a DIY quadcopter
