Hi all!Sorry for some (probably) REALLY dumb and basic questions here, I'm kinda new to the auto-pilot scene, and cherry new in the RC scene. I've decided to try building a dual tilt rotor flyer with aileron, elevator, and rudder support.I currently have a Arduino Mega 2560, some light weight servos (for desgn and development), and a Turnigy 9x transmitter. Is the autopilot kit that is currently offered, able to be used with the 2560? Is the ardupilot able to support a dual tilt rotor design as well?- Josh

Any Arduino board (including 2560) - No. ArduPilotMega 2560 - Yes. Dual tilt rotor - Not even close. That is "generally" a very complicated airframe with cyclic (and possibly collective) rotor blade pitch control as well as the flying surfaces. IMO it is probably over-ambitious if you have no autopilot or RC experience. You may want to start with a plane and/or quad and gain some experience.
No, you can not use standard Arduino boards such as the Mega 2560. You need to use the custom APM board and IMU shield kit. APM supports multirotors and helis, but I don't think any autopilot on the market has been tested on a dual tilt rotor!
