Question about Tarot 650 with 17" prop

Hi,

I am reading "Advanced Multicopter Design" of Arducopter Wiki.

There, I found interesting descriptions that says "The Tarot 650 is a typical layout medium sized carbon fiber Quadcopter frame that can work with up to 17″ propellers." the link

The tarot 650's size is, I think, 650mm from mortor to mortor, so it can load up to 12" props. (650mm / 25.4 /2 = 12.8) The hobbyking says it is best for 10-11" props.

I thought the Wiki is wrong, but when i search the forums, several people has already built Tarot 650 with 17 inch props. For example : tarot 650 multistar 4225 390kv 17'' props 4s 8000mah

Can somebody teach me know how this is possible? I am very interested in Tarto 650 and hope to build next copter with one.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi. The 12,8 is only one half of a rotor. 12,8 to the inside, 12,8 to the outside. So 17'' is possible.
