Radio Calibration in Mission Planner with Turnigy 9x

Hi, I'm working on my first quadcopter project and I'm having some issues getting it off the ground.

The main problem I seem to be having right now is that I am unable to calibrate my Turnigy 9x radio in the Mission Planner software. Green bars appear when I open up the menu, but when I try to calibrate it (move the sticks on the radio controller around), the green bars will not move in response to the Turnigy radio controller.

I'm using a DJI F450 with a APM 2.6.

I'll try to post images later on, but I'd like to see if anyone has any insight on what's going on or a way to solve this?

    Okay, I managed to solve this. 

    It turns out that I didn't plug in the cables for the Turnigy receiver the right way and I also had not actually properly binded the receiver with the transmitter.
