RC problem - help me troubleshoot?

hello guys!

I am using a Flysky transmitter + receiver combo with an APM mini V3.1 in mission planner.

The combination works fine - most of the time.

Sometimes however, there seems to be a problem where either

- the transmitter sends bad signals

- the receiver receives the signals poorly

- the FC doesn't react to the reciever properly

The effect is that my drone reacts on the signal in a delayed fashion and it doesn't respond properly.

I included a graph of the throttle channel in time, one where the problem occurs and one where it does not. You can easily notice the jerky/blocky response.

This has so far only happened directly after startup, but I am scared this could happen in the air aswell..

I have not been able to recreate the problem.

Does anyone have an idea how to narrow down the problem?

Thanks in advance!

  • I have found out that the receiver fails when high currents are drawn.

During my last flight, I punched the throttle, drew 90A, and the quad just kept going up and up without reacting.

I did manage to land it luckily...

This happens when I hold it down too - I even get baro errors in both cases (?)

SO, does a high current induce signal loss?

    how to get around this?

    I really need some help!

  • I found this thread...

I remember I had a similar issue... the cases of the motor connected to the phase -somehow-  causing currents through the fibre.

At that point the receiver didn't work at all.

Now i insulated the motors from the frame. I guess there might still be leakage.

Why however does the receiver fail due to currents in the fibre?

    Anyone ideas?
