RC receiver issue

Hi,

  I have recently put together my ArduPilot Mega and i have attached my futaba FP-R116FB receiver however when i load the RC test sketch i do not see any input from the receiver....

 

I have read about PPM firmware causing issues but i only purchased this last week so i would have thought it would have the latest firmware??

 

I am a little lost with this and i dont really know what to do next?

    Does anyone know how to upgrade the firmware on the ardupilot using the AVRISP mk1? I purchesed the mk1 version instead of mkii by mistake and i cant get it to work.....

    I'm not sure where you purchased it from, since the manufacturer (Sparkfun) has been out of stock for nearly a month. If you purchased it from some other source, it's almost certainly an early version that was made in the first batch, and needs a PPM firmware update.
