RCTimer ArduFlyer 2.5.2 anyone else got one?

I got my shipment from RCTimer today and soldered in the right-angle pins.

I also bought the "better" LEA-6H GPS with magnetometer.  The socket for the GPS is clearly marked but nothing says "Mag" on it anywhere.  Of course there is no documentation with it, and the stuff I found online only covers the CN-06 V2 GPS, which doesn't have a mag on it.

I've read that onboard mags are problematic with multi's; thats why I bought the off-board mag on the GPS.  There is a four-pin connector next to the "PM" (I interpret to mean power module) connector.  That is labeled "12 C".  Even if I assumed that is for the magnetometer, I don't know if I need to disable the on-board magnetometer, or if so, how.

Does anyone have a link to better information?

Does anyone know what the "12 C" socket is for?

While we're at it, does anyone know what JPs 2 thru 4 are supposed to do?

  • Thanks!  Yeah, I finally found another blog post.  What threw me off is that the connector is actually I ("eye") 2 C, but RCTimer had 12 C (digit one) silkscreened on the case.  So when I searched for references to that connector, I searched for the wrong thing.

I found the trace and cut it.  I have all the parts to build my drone now except a GPS dome and pedestal, so I'll velcro it somewhere else temporarily until I place another order.

I'll go in search of that YouTube video on it.

  • The mag does plug into the I2c. You need to search how to add external compass on YouTube. There is a trace that needs to be cut on the apm board. Then you need to change some settings through mission planner and upload. Good luck.
