Recommend Gimbal for this setup

Hi guys, need some help here... 

I need to mount a  Microcam2 on a DJI s1000.  (don't have one yet)

I would like to put the Microcam 2 on a gimbal (2 -3 axis ). 

My question is this: 

1) Does the DJI only accept DJI gimbals? 

2) If so, is it possible to put something like the Microcam 2 on a DJI gimbal? Are DJI gimbals tightly integrated with the DJI quads? Meaning I can't really put external cameras on it?

    1) I wouldn't think so but I'm not entirely sure. DJI is fairly well known for not playing nicely with anything but DJI.

    2) The only DJI gimbals I know about are the Zenmuse gimbals. Not only are they specific to the camera type but also to the lens on the camera. 

    I assume you are intending to have other payload as well? A S1000 would be extreme overkill for a 43gm camera.

      It's a gopro mount for the s1000, was wondering if it would be a good idea to hack it to mount the microcam. 

      Yes, there would be other payloads..
