I am in the final stages of completing my Octo with 880Kv motors.
I am looking at using full carbon fibre propellors. What would the general recommendation to choose between 12 x 4.5 and 12 x 6 please.

I have 910kv 370Watt motors at 4S, on a pretty big Octo.
I started using 12x5 props but they were to powerful.
I'm now using 10x4.7 RCTimer props and they seem to be working well.
I'm carrying a not so light alu frame, a Canon S3, FPV cam, lots of eletronics and junk...
If you are going to use it with 4S, I would say 12x4.5, not more. That's already a lot. :)
But it also depends on the model of prop. My 10x4.5 APC's have a much higher lift capacity than my 10x5 Graupner ones.

I have propellers 13x6.5 CF from HiModel and I could not use them because they resonate from certain rpms. With a 920kv leopard lc3542 motor and 4s battery, it was impossible to go beyond 40% throttle.
