50km is within the capapability of some of the more powerful onboard FPV systems.
Do a search for Trappy and Black Sheep, their website has technical details on how they achieve those sorts of distances.
The key is then antenna you use not the amount of power you transmit with.
For example, you can send and receive wifi over 100km plus distances using off the shelf components and high gain antennas.
