Robotics newbie : 3DR Pixhawk Vs APM 2.6

Hello All,

I am a programmer but a newbie in Robotics. I read the specs for for 3DR Pixhawk and APM2.6. I was about to get started on my project and place order for kits. But then i wondered if i should wait for 3DR pixhawk.

Any recommendations if i should wait ? What are the real differences in newbie terms ?

It also talks about type of Quadcopter but ends in a discussion on APM v's Pixihawk.

If you can wait then wait for a Pixi(which is the future) if you want to do something right now then APM.

I think the Pixhawk is the future..
