1.Loiter altitude & 2.Power cycle needed to re-arm

Hi all,

I have two questions I am hoping the more experienced might help this noob with

History.

I built a quadcopter SK450 frame, APM.2.5 with v 3.0.1 & CN-06 GPS that with a mixture of some bad tx programming that switched on RTL when it shouldn't have and combined with very bad toilet bowl effect, smacked into a tree :(

Current

Rebuild with much improved wiring from battery to ESC's

Cut track to disable APM compass and added separate, higher mounted compass/GPS module - compassmot now 17%

Does RTL to within inches of home, stabilize very good.. but with loiter it sits perfectly on spot except for altitude even with a breeze.

When I switch to loiter the quad shoots up and appears to sit at the RTL programmed height

Also I am noticing on a number of occasions during test flights, the need after landing to disconnect/reconnect the lipo before I can rearm again

Any and all help and advice will be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Sean

  • Hi,

I'm no expert but posting some dataflash logs might help someone to look into the issue.

You could try changing the RTL height and see if that affects the height it loiters at - to see if that is what it going on.  Also If you move the throttle stick in loiter can you adjust the height?

No idea about your arm/rearm problem.

    Cheers,

    Rob.
