Thanks.
Although my small aircraft system is not remotely piloted (it fly's itself), it is very similar in size/weight/construction to model aircraft so I have been following the rules for RPAS's.
The way I see it (correct me if I'm wrong) is that there are three magic weight thresholds.
Stay under 15Kg and my system of auto-piloted flight is termed a Free-flight system. That system operates as per RPSA's and general model planes (so stay under 400 ft, line of sight, away from pretty much anything else etc).
Go over 15Kg but under 25Kg the same rules apply as above but the construction needs consent from an approved model aircraft authority (there is only one, MFNZ).
Go over 25Kg and you need permission in writing from 'the Director'.
Did I miss anything?
I could find anything on commercial application, operating multiple / networked systems together, research and development rules etc...
Replies
In addition to rules.
Does anyone know about good practice / building existing systems into the construction?
I.e. light on left = red; right = green...
Are things like that detailed anywhere in a handy (readable) format somewhere?

Thanks.
