while looking for an easy way to connect a transmitter i stumbled upon this link

to make it short, with a little software support it would be possible to connect a turnigy 9x reciver digitally via 4 wires to the apm board, i think this would be great for weight reduction and maybe performance improvements?
if i had better programming skills i would try that, what do you think of this?

i think this would even improve the reliability of a drone, less wires -> less things can go wrong, maybe even a failsave could be implemented easier ?!
btw, i would like to have a solution like this for the transmitter part, so controlling an rc car from a notebook, if you happen to have a link please post !
