Seeking Quadcopter Guru for quick lesson(s)

Hi,

I have recently purchased a quadcopter (see attached) with Arducopter software and a Fatshark FPS vision system. Hands up, I am a complete novice and would love for someone with an interest and (incredible) experience in the technology to show me how it all works. I am a quick learner and a bit of a techgeek, but have a time pressure so need to get up to speed quickly. I leave the end of next week and am taking the drone with me on a 5 month drive from London to Cape Town. I am going to be documenting my trip and experience and so want to be able to get the best out of the device and technology as soon as possible.

I would love to learn the following:

  • Basic flight controls
  • How to set way points for automatic flight
  • Hover in a stable position
  • Control camera
  • Use Fatshark effectively for remote flying (optional)
  • Etc....etc

I am based in London. Ideally we could fly in a park here, although also willing to travel if you are not too far. I am hoping to be up to speed by Thursday next week (18th October) at the latest and suspect it will take a couple of mornings/afternoons, but willing to spend as much time as need be....:)

Any gurus out there willing to help out? Happy to offer in kind for your services.

Anton

  • "I leave the end of next week" That's a very short time. If you have never flown any RC yet, you should get a Blade mqx or similar from your local rc store and practise the hell out of it to learn the controls.  Take enough spare parts on your trip props/motors/esc/battery etc.

And may the force be with you.

    So long

    Rob

P.s.: Sorry, i am not living near by.
