Should the roll value stay zero then entire time for the sensor test? Because thats all I get from my sensors is 0 for roll no matter how I move the plane or my hands in front of it .

I'm not sure what you mean by "0" but the below is typical output for the sensor test. The first two columns should change when you put your hands in front of the sensor. If you're actually getting 0s then you have hooked up your hardware wrong.
