Is there a way to set a "Region of Interest" (ROI), "Point of Interest" (POI), or send a "Point Camera Here" command to Mission Planner from a python script?

I have a python script allows me to set guided points based on external information (other programs, other vehicles, ect), but would like to add the functionality of pointing my camera gimbal based on this information. For all intensive purposes I know all the information needed to input into these command (lat, lon, alt) to point the camera, but do not know the exact syntax. My backup if this does not work is to just command the gimbal's servos directly from python. Any ideas would be extremely helpful.
