When I go to field and power up the APM the initialization takes usually minute or two. Gps light turns steady blue, APM light turns steady red almost immediately after that.

Should I then reset the APM again from the board before the flight to make sure that the GPS gives better "first" fix for the APM during second initialization.

I thought this because I think the GPS doesn't have to calculate the satellites so long on warm reset and the init fix would be then more accurate for the baro?

Or should I just let the plane be on the ground after power up bit longer after GPS initialization so that the baro alt would get more calibration time.

Is the baro calibrated during flight by gps?

I have noticed that many times the APM tends to fly lower altitude than the default configuration is set to fly (100m).
