Hi,
For anyone interested in a simple, sturdy yet cheap solution for a multicopter landing gear I suggest garden hose and zip ties...
This assembly has just enough give to dampen rough landings yet is stiff enough to hold a pretty hefty hexa or octo without collasping. Regular 5/8" ID hose from the hardware store fits perfectly over 16mm carbon-fiber tubing.
I went through two different designs of CNC'ed carbon-fiber and FR4 landing gears before thinking about these and I'm quite satisfied with them.
Eventually I will integrate some machined barbed tube fittings possibly directly into the motor mounts and center plate to avoid the slotted hoses and zip-ties.
Enjoy!
