Ok all,
I have a custom rover that has 4 independent motors, one on each wheel. I'm using a Sabertooth 2x12 RC thanks to TCIII suggestions. I've got the rover working but I have two issues:
- When the rover turns from a waypoint to the next waypoint, it only uses one side of the skid steer function to turn until it's half-way around, then it uses both. One side to go forward, the other goes backwards, which makes more sense. How do I get the skid steering to engage sooner than that so that when it starts the run, it turns on a dime and engages both left and right side simultaneously?
- For some reason, the rover goes to the waypoints like it's backing up. I have the APM2.5 mounted facing forward and made sure that my board orientation in Mission Planner setup isn't checked weird. Thoughts?

@Lake,
Is it really driving backwards to the each waypoint? If it is, you might want to check the reverse box for the throttle in the radio calibration page in the MP and see what happens. You also might want to make sure that the switches on the Sabertooth are setup for skid steering per the Sabertooth instructions. I have a 6WD rover using the Sabertooth 2X12 ESC and it works great. It drives forward to each waypoint and uses both sides to turn.
