Soldering APM2.5+ Power module cables straight to PDB?

Gday guys,

I have a 3DR hexa kit, and was wondering if there is any practical reason that I am not seeing to use the xt-60 connectors on the PM --> PDB leads. I would prefer to just cut the connector and solder the power module cables straight to the PDB.

Any reasons not to? It's my first RC build so I might just not be seeing something obvious.

Cheers,

Dan

  • Dan,

I'm building a QAV500 and have a space problem so have disconnected the XT60's, re-shrink wrapped and soldered the input of the Power Module directly to the PDB. As Bill indicated, less easy to disconnect however in my case, it now fits in between the ESC's rather than hanging it outside the airframe.

There no issue I can think of, other than is less easy to disconnect ;-)
