Strange motor behavior

Hello guys,

I receive my official Arducopter full electronics last week from jDrones. A lot of fun during building.

I have soldered ESCs power directly to Power Distribution Board.
I'm currently waiting to receive connectors to be able to disconnect ESC.
But what's the benefit to be able to disconnect ESC from Power Distribution Board ? Except the possibilities to change a ESC without need soldering again.

I'm using Ardupirates code.
I did the ESC Throttle calibration with CLI.
I did the Calibration MIN Throttle value with CLI.

Now, I'm facing with a strange motor behavior (only one) when I'm using Motor tester with CLI :

I will do these checks :

- Connect another motor to the same ESC to know if it's a ESC issue or a motor issue
- Connect the ESC to another APM output, to know if it's a APM output issue
- Change channel on receiver to know if it's receiver channel issue

What else ?

Another question, during ESC Throttle calibration, I need to disconnect Lipo. When I disconnect Lipo, it seems that APM (powerup by USB) doesn't have enough power to power my Receiver.
So, my receiver is not powerup until I reconnect my Lipo. Is it a usual behavior ?

Best regards,
Pascal

  • Reciever does not power on when using USB on new board versions, so yes this is correct
  • I guess you have connection problems with all 3 motor wires....maybe
