Hey guys,
We are developing a new Hexacopter and I was looking at different motors and could not decide which ones fit the best. We just need a really high Thrust to weight ratio (battery life is less important). The strongest I found were from T-motor and KDE Direct, but does anybody know other companies that sell high thrust motors?
The ones of KDE provide 2000g of thrust at 100% with 9" Props. Anything similar in this area?
Regards,
Alexis

Alexis,
Here is a link to a post that shows a good technique for comparing rotor prop lift capability.
http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/standard-industry-wide-rotor-test...
Anything with a net lift of 10 grams/watt is pretty good.
Ahh. I understand better now.
I run 8 3520/400 with 1555 or 1755 props on a 6S pack so a different scenario.
I also run 3508/380 motors and as I said I have not had an issue with any of these. But again these will be to big as these are also on 6S with 1355 props.
Perhaps there will be something more suitable on there web site as it seems to be constantly updated:-).
Good luck!
Lyn.
Thanks for the quick answer. I also looked at motors with smaller KV values as the T-motor you recommended, but the problem is the huge rotor size. We want to have smaller rotors than 10" to minimize the size of the drone

Hi Alexis.
If you want the best you cannot go wrong with either of the two manufacturers you mention!
I have used T-Motor ESC's and motors predominately over the last few years and in hundreds of flights I have not had a failure,as far as I can tell, due to either part. The T-motor 3520/400 can provide over 2700g of static thrust at 19Amps current draw (from data sheet).
AceCore use motors from a German company I believe they are called Kontronic drives. These may be worth a look if money is no object:-).
