Suggestions for motors easily available to get started with.

Hi,

I'm totally new, so please try bear with me?

I've put together an APM 2.5 kit and works fine walking around outside.

Would like to get started with a quadcopter and busy building a frame (will buy one once I got the hang of things...want to "earn" it).  It's pretty light / strong so far, made out of balsa & aluminum using a H-Frame design.  Like I said, just until I get the hang of things.  If I only get the motors to turn I'll be more than satisfied.

The only place I could find so far which does not sell parts at crazy prices in my country is this one.  (Though want to look more since I just found some bad reviews about them on HelloPeter.  Uurgh, living in South Africa sucks sometimes. )

Was hoping someone could suggest a good motor that would work for starters from the limited selection they have?

I've read the G10 810kv is not a bad choice?

  • No, forget that place.  Looked them up on hellopeter, and...huh uh.

These guys got a few motors that look reasonably priced, but most out of stock.

This one seems to have a few, but never heard / read about e-flite motors?

Maybe I should go with Gumtree, these motors look new, but from what I looked up this (G25) is too heavy, which mean this one (c5045-c kv 720) must be totally overweight?

Or maybe just get over it and buy this one,   (can cry later about the hole in my pocket like when I bought the APM  ..lol)  Weight, power, etc (exl price!) looks pretty good from the little bit I know so far?
