Finally got the receiver that came late and am looking to startup up a new Y6 w/ Pixhawk and the Tarot T-2D. After powering up, the gimbal acts a little odd. Any advice?

Hi Mike, as Chris pointed out, you need to have the GoPro camera attached on the gimbal for it to work. The brushless motors do not have enough power to hold the position of the gimbal if it is not balanced. And the T-2D is designed to be perfectly balanced only when the go pro is attached.
I can't really tell from that video, but it will only work with a GoPro attached (for weight balance).
