Last night I was playing with my quad with the fpv gear on and I could see that the Turnigy rx is losing the signal from the tx after less than 100 meters (going in RTL failsafe), when the FPV transmiter is on. My FPV tx is broadcasting on 1200MHz and the Turnigy is 2.4GHz.

Should I change the FPV tx to some other frequency (1080MHz, 1120MHz, 1160MHz, 1200MHz)?

  • This sounds like the Turnigy rx has poor front-end filtering. Changing to a lower frequency might help, but probably not by much.  You might have better luck reorienting your antennas and moving them farther apart, and reducing the power on your video tx.  You might also consider other frequency bands for your video, if possible/legal in your area.

Does your RC transmitter have a range check function?  You should be performing range checks on the ground, not in the air, and you should be doing this EVERY time you make any electrical modifications to the aircraft, if not prior to every flight.
