Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter

Hi all

Since my transmitter finally gave up the ghost today I have been reading through some webpages and have found this really cheap transmitter. It was also mentioned in another post on the site and what I was wondering is if anyone has had any dealings with it?

Are they any good?

I have had no dealings with hobbycity before so what are they like?

I know it is proper cheap but it could be good for the basic flying that I do and using with my UAS setup.....

Thanks

    Hi Ryan,
Sorry to hear about the ghost. What is the issue with with your current transmitter and how did it fail?
The Tx you mentioned is probably ok with very basic RC flying etc. But if you are even moderatly serious with RC flying, a little better 6 or more channel radio is recommended preferably 2.4Ghz IMHO. This is one pc of equipment that will stay with you for long time and across all the RC and UAV journey , so you may want to have a decent partner. One trick though is to get a good branded second hand RC transmitter as many of them are being sold cheap and buy 2.4 ghz module for it from Assan or Corona. First identify , locate a second hand very good model( say from JR , Futaba etc) see if there is a module available for it and read the reviews about it)
hobby city/ Hobby king service is excelent and their prices are pretty much unbeatable. I have few things i ordered from them whcih came alright.
  • as far as i know there was some kind of problems in the firmware of this device,
but they was solved if i am not worng,

a nice match for this radio transmitter is the FrSky module:
