Hi I am new to this site and I was hoping I could get some advice or help from here. I am currently working with a group of students on a project in which we were hoping to use an altered UAV with a stabilized camera to take spectral images of a field of crops. We hit a speed bump in which this UAV is also subject to the same rules as all UAVs (requiring a COA) and we don't want to deal with pilot certificates and such. So I was hoping somebody here could give us suggestions or help. I saw the blimpduino in this site and was wondering if that requires a pilots certificate and if it was strong enough to hold camera equipment.

Why do you think you need a COA? Are you operating commercially or outside line of sight/400ft alt?
