  • This is the backup battery which allows the module memory to be saved. When you have the backup battery you will begin with a hot start (or warm start depending on how long it's been) instead of a cold start. A hot start will give you a position fix in 1s, and a cold start would be 30s-120s. After the time to first fix the positioning performance will be the same.

Sounds like Dave is on to something with checking if the battery leads are shorting out if the battery on your board is rechargeable.

  • No i wont cause a problem. It will just take it longer to get a gps fix. Check the legs on the battery soldered to the board. Mine were shorted together when they soldered it to the board. I had to remove the cell and solder it back to the board then it startrd to work.
  • My 6m had a rechargable battery in it. It would go flat but when it was plugged in for a while it would recharge. I tested it with a meter.
    • Can it cause problems if it won't charge and you still fly
  • The battery is a ms621 battery
