Ublox Not Working - APM 2.8

I have an APM 2.8 with latest firmware uploaded.  I have one of the Ublox 6m GPS/Compass modules with a six wire cord coming from the corner of the Ublox module.  The wires split to 2 and 4 into DF connectors (4 GPS & 2 Compass).  I connect the wires to the APM and I do not get any lights on the Ublox module.  I thought I might have a bad module, so I connected another one to the APM and still got no lights.  I measured voltage on Pin Out on APM and I have 5 Volts on GPS pins.  I have another APM 2.8 with same set up and it works.  If I unplug the compass and put the jumper on the APM 2.8, I can get the internal compass working.  Even though there is no light on the Ublox, I can get 5 or 6 satellites, but they positions drifts badly.  I expect the GPS might be getting some feedback current enough to provide some weak signal.

I  have tried most everything but cannot figure it out.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Does anyone have a detailed wiring diagram for the ublox and the pin outs on the APM showing the pin IDs (Volts In, TX, RX,Grnd, Compass).

Any help will be appreciated.

  • I have the same issue like yours, it seems that NEO 6M gps/compass module is a China Made product, you may need to enquiry to the person you bought with. It might be a BAD produced. U might want them to explain a little more further to get it working. Let me know when you found your answer.
