Hello,

I have just the Mediatek via Fahph.com and after tests with the 1.5 of Pirate the blue led is fix after 45 at 70 s. and after i don't have the 3D red led....

I receive this days the gps and i think there' s a firmware problem....

i want update with the september version, but i don't have the usb cable...

Is it possible for connected via the rs232 port ( db9  com 1  port  of my computer)...?

I think connected  :

input of gps ---------) out txd pin3 of female db9

output of gps ------) in rxd pin2 of female db9

the gnd of gps -----) in gnd data pin5 of female db9

And the 5v  ---------) in my little regulated power supply 5v

Are there any cable or other for the db9 pin .?

Good week at you !

Thierry

If you have normal FTDI cable you can easily connect to your GPS with it.

Check your wiki pages on how to connect FTDI cable and Mediatek together.

If you still cannot update it, please send it back to jDrones and we will fix it for you. (jDrones is taking care of all old Fahpah customers).

  • You'll need to put one of these http://extremeelectronics.co.in/avr-tutorials/rs232-communication-t... between your db9 port and RX/TX pins on the gps. Note the VCC and GND pins (16 and 15 respectively) are not shown in the circuit diagram.

  • no!! rs232 from a pc puts out about 13V signals, you would kill your unit

you need a signal konverter (like MAX232) to use this com-port
