Using a little generator to power a quadcopter?

There are 1000 watt generators that weigh 29 lbs (url below).   If a quadcopter could lift this and run on 1000 watts average it could fly for hours.  What would it take to do this?   I am guessing some really big blades.   What is the largest lifting capacity of a quadcopter so far?   What sort of power consumption per lbs of lift are people getting?    Is there a chance this could work?

  • Usual mid-size (10"ish props) quads hover at around 100 W per kg lifted (about 45 W/lb). Bigger props increase efficiency.
