Is there a way other than PREFETCH to use external imagery with MP? I have looked and not been able to figure out where MP stores image tiles for use. Can MP use georeferenced TIFF or JPG from other sources?

yes, if you use globalmapper to export a tileset, or use a wms source.
Where do I store the tiles so MP will find them? I figured out how to use the WMS for aeronautical sectional charts.

That's REALLY cool! I totally forgot about the "special menus" in MP. Are you using some sort of geodatabase to store the image tiles?
