vibration free camera mount FPV

Now that my quad is inthe air quite stable and that I'm waiting for GPS, magneto, ...

I was looking for a vibration free methodof installing a FPV camera.

I've allready fitted a small pinhole camera (MD80) on a mount with 3 vibration dampers but with no succes.

 

I've seen allready video's using these camera but I would like to see the mounts.

 

Also any tips??

    Of course first of all, make sure your props are very well balanced. Also occasionally check the props for small nicks due to e.g. hitting grass or twigs, and rebalance if there are clear nicks.

    What seems to work reasonably well for me is a central column of soft foam with about 7cm diameter, an open space and then a ring of foam about 2-3cm wide (so no interconnections between the central colum and the outer ring; this lack of connection significantly reduces the "hardness" of the foam layer allowing the mounting plate more freedom to not move too much as the craft makes frequent but small amplitude tilt and roll corrections to stay stable (which is part of what you can see as "vibration"). Pull the camera mount plate up against the foam with several rubber bands or cords so that it just slightly compresses the foam. It should be able to move a bit on roll and tilt axis but not too freely. If the elastic cords are too tight dampening of vibrations and reduction of "micro-amplitude attitude corrections" will be reduced.
