at RCG, there has been warnings against the 3DR power adapter, e.g. here:

Is there any substance to that?

They are correct in that if you power devices from the Inputs or A channels you are limited to 500mA as there is a protective fuse. The error is that adding a 3A UBeC will help. It won't if connected to the Outputs with JP1 in place. The fuse is limiting the current.
