With the APM mission planner, does one have to have an Internet connection to set and execute waypoints? What if I'm in a remote area...?And... can waypoints be programmed using just the Rx, no computer?Thanks

In MP, you can set waypoints without the map data, though obviously it is not as nice. But if you know where you are going to be, you can pre-fetch the map data for the area while you have a data connection and then use that data in the field. If you right click on the map, a menu pops up that includes map commands, one of which is pre-fetch.
You can also set waypoints with a switch on the TX. If you look at the Channel 7 options on the config screen you will see that one of the options is Set Waypoint. This should set a waypoint at the current location of the machine.
