Possible responses:

a) plummet to expensive death at 0m AS (about 780m below my feet)

b) RTL

c) Loiter

d) Land

...or?

Second dumb question; if c) is the correct answer, can I lift off, engage auto then upload waypoints midflight (via 3DR telem/MP), and it will autoexecute?

Third question dumb: without a "land" option at the end of the route, will it just loiter?

Thought I'd ask some dumb question before I find out the expensive way.

I never tried it, but according to the code it should do nothing and stay in Loiter.

    Olivier.

  • Yes I understand the benefit of simulation, but I'm just looking for a general response without have to spend hours configuring something that ill barely use - once I cover the basics, my tests will be done inflight.

Specifically - if I flick auto on, what will happen if I have no waypoints loaded? Will my quad loiter, land or RTL?

May I suggest that you look into HiL/SitL? It is a more reliable way to test your missions than relying on opinion about what will happen with any specific version of code and conditions.

Of course we have a large number of very experienced, knowledgable people here, but I still feel that it would be a helpful tool in your toolbox.
